O-Shot

Openness and sexuality start by addressing the problems at hand. For women suffering from sexual dysfunction, problems such as poor lubrication, painful intercourse, and inability to achieve orgasm can result in lower libido. Often, these issues affect a woman’s sexual health and self-esteem, and most often, there is a reluctance to bring these issues up to gynecologists and women’s health surgeons. For women wanting better sexual enjoyment, a new non-invasive treatment has entered the physician’s office.

What Is The O-Shot?

The O-shot is an injection of your platelet-rich blood plasma to increase sensitivity and sexual pleasure. Originally proposed by Dr. Charles Runels, the purpose of this injection is to help regenerate healthier tissues and thus form more functional areas of sexual response. The PRP from the person’s blood contains cell-regenerating factors that increase stem cell production, allowing blood flow and healthy tissue to grow and form, and thus improving the vascularization of the area.

We provide the O-Shot to help address many of the underlying issues with sexual performance, arousal, and painful intercourse. For many women, many of their sexual problems are undisclosed to their gynecologists due to a lack of awareness for solutions, and often, many of the treatments for sexual disorders often come short-lived. The O-Shot works with women to recover from various sexual problems and disorders, including:

  • Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder: This form of physical and mental disorder can cause a lack of motivation and desire for sex for an extended period of at least six months or more.
  • Female Sexual Arousal Disorder: While the desire for sex may be intact, this disorder causes difficulty with arousal or maintain arousal.
  • Female Orgasmic Disorder: The decline in sexual climax even with sexual arousal and desire can cause significant emotional and physical distress.
  • Dyspareunia: Pain during intercourse can lead to many of the previously mentioned disorders above, which aren’t caused by decreased lubrication or vaginal spasms.

The distress caused by a lack of sexual desire, an inability to maintain arousal, and pain during sex can cause interpersonal difficulties and can disrupt a woman’s life drastically. However, O-shot attempts to resolve those problems by providing the vagina with the ability to allow blood flow and healthy tissue growth, creating better pathways for women to achieve better sexual experiences.

How The O-Shot Procedure Works

The O-Shot procedure begins with a simple draw of blood from the arm after sterilization. A special centrifuge is used to produce the platelet-rich plasma from the blood and then is extracted. Once extracted, the PRP is injected into the numbed areas of the external regions of the vagina, including the clitoris and labia majora. Getting the O-Shot is painless once numbed, and once received, the most symptoms that would be experienced after the shot would be swelling, redness, and numbness for at least a few days. The O-Shot is provided on a rotation of every eight weeks, and results may vary.
