Neurofeedback/NeuroIntegration

neurofeedback

Neurofeedback, also known as neurointegration, provides information about the functions of the brain. The process uses EEG technology to read information about abnormal activity in the brain. When brain waves are detected outside of normal ranges, cues are given to help guide the brain back to normal activity. Over time, neurofeedback sessions encourage self-regulation of brain function, which can have a profoundly positive impact on patients with symptoms of ADD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and SAD.

Facts about the effectiveness of neurointegration:
Neurofeedback clinicians that 8 in 10 ADD/ADHD patients who complete between 30 and 40 sessions experience favorable results
Anxiety is one of the first conditions that clinicians report responding to neurofeedback
Neurofeedback can help improve the symptoms of depression and even help some patients reduce the number of medications needed for the disorder

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if neurofeedback could benefit me?

Neurofeedback sessions can be beneficial for people with a variety of disorders and conditions related to the nervous system. If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, or seasonal affective disorder (SAD), we invite you to contact our office to schedule a neurofeedback consultation in. We’ll help you find out more about this powerful technology and how it could benefit you.

What should I expect during a neurofeedback session?

We are proud to use the Clear Mind neurofeedback system, which provides an in-depth analysis of brain wave activity that can help us monitor your progress over time. During each session, you will be asked to listen to music or watch a movie while your brain activity is monitored via EEG. If irregular brain waves are detected, you will be given an auditory or visual prompt that will automatically cause your brain to return to normal brain patterns. Once the brain corrects itself, the cue stops and the brain feels rewarded. This process is repeated throughout the session – usually approximately 30 minutes – discouraging the brain from engaging in an irregular activity.

At the end of the session, a brain map will be generated identifying dominant brain frequencies, cognition, emotional processes, and communication processes between various areas of your brain. Clear Mind can even help us make recommendations for nutritional supplementation based on the results in your report.

How many neurofeedback sessions will I need?

The number of sessions you need and your results may vary from that of other patients. However, most patients undergo neurofeedback sessions a few times per week over the course of a few months. We offer session packages in 10, 20, and 40-pack sessions. Our recommendations for patients vary according to your age and the type of disorder you are seeking treatment for. You may begin to experience results after just one session, or it may take several to notice significant changes. However, the results our patients achieve are generally permanent, providing long-term emotional balance, increased energy, and better concentration levels.
